Not an oxymoron

Disclaimer : It is a long post. Very Long. Some where it will feel I am talking to myself, kindly ignore. In our times, the most inaccurate and overused word is a "mutual breakup". I am an expert at this because I've had multiple  mutual breakups, we are friends now because I initiated those.  Save it sweethearts, there is nothing like one. There is nothing mutual about a breakup. You can go through the dusty, never touched archives in the history of relationships and see for yourself; never have two people realise  spontaneously that they want to call it off and expressed it at the exact same moment. Never. It's always one person suggests it and then the other one, seldom with a smile, often with a simple shrug, other times with a lot of drama and more often with a lot of waterworks, accepts the suggestion. Some don't, well then you can't even call it a breakup, can you? There are times of course; when one person suggests breaking up, the ot...

for it ended then.

He’d hoped for a perfect day Of dirty shoes and a long walk While she had made plans To drink coffee and talk He sat behind the curtain Altered by the sugar Took questions one by one Without a perfect answer He almost never had one She whimpered on Walking about restlessly Without any footwear on He had nothing to ask But the one that made her shudder It wasn’t her love for dogs But why she sang in the shower

A chord that struck

Has the kind of music you dive into, ever changed your world in any way? Have you ever ever thought harder or felt stronger after your favourite lines? Have you ever been left with cold feet, weak knees, a pounding heart or a dazed expression? Has the music ever entered your ears and then taken a short-cut directly into your soul without stopping to bother your head or heart? Or has it ever taken involuntary control of your body like a polite note? How would have life been if you had never heard of  "Kashmir", "Smoke on the water", "Pyar hamein kis mod pe", or "Wish you were here"? Can you remember the time when you did not really know the words "Fade to Black" or even "I am the highway"? How about those time when a song made you sit up and proclaim, "Hey! I know that feeling and that's exactly how it feels!"? Do you remember your first song dedication and the reaction it caused? Do you recall ever b...

Tinsel Town blues!

have been away for a long time.  All my attempts to start NabloPaMo for the last 2 months have been crushed by my own laziness. I penned down 5 stories and a few poems, but nothing came up on the blog. The paper napkin at CCD has more patience than this blog. Grrr, and like all those relations where you get back no matter how worthless they are, I come back to this blog each day, to read and to think "wish I could write like them" *Ahh! Sigh* And my poor blog is now stinking like the rotten egg, with nothing new. Uggghhh!! did I say that out loud? If you have not noticed I have taken the pains in changing the template a bit. Meanwhile I read hundreds of post on others' blogs. I have developed this R.F.P syndrome.  Reading First Post syndrome , I cannot sit still unless I dig into the first post written on every blog that I go through. I love reading how the blog was started, what was the reason of its coming to existence. Its my marijuana since the last few mont...

Cheers to the head on the heels!!

Everyday thousands of woman walk in and out of that door, wearing their charm on sleeves and tip tapping the floor in their brightly coloured or multi-hued, blingy or matte, rough or polished oh-so-yumm FIVE inched heels.. Surely enough all these women have one thing in mind "To prove themselves". Sometimes in discomfort, on their toes, balancing on a tightrope called a life. Sometimes when she sees them, the single streak of thought that passes her myriad mind; "Will i be one of them someday?" Aah...how much she would have loved tapping those heels, gliding them on that smooth marble floor. Each of them with a thought of their own, walking through the difficult lanes of hundreds of doubts that arise everyday @ their workplace or @ home. Gliding through life, putting a full stop to those millions raised eyebrows to question her creditability, in her beautiful stilettos, she copes up with every small detail in this BIG patriarchal universe. As she look upto them, he...
